Dressage means, "The Art of Riding and Training a Horse in a Manner that Develops Obedience, Flexibility and Balance." It is done in exhibition and competition. Currently Dressage is competitive and has Nine different levels. Tests are changed every four years by the (USEF) and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Equestrian Events came to the Olympics in 1900. Since most training of horses came from the Cavalries around the world, Dressage was a Mens Sport. After the Second World War the US Cavalry was disbanded. The Events turned to the Civilian world and Women got to participate. In 1952 the first Women were allowed to compete in the Olympics. In 1973 the USEF was born.
